Chip's Fabulous Links
- Family and Friends' Sites!
- James Anderson's Website - James
and I do a lot of work together at UCSD, and he's an all-around great guy.
- Alan's Website - I met Alan when
I was a member of Wolfgang, and he and I have become very good friends. Alan
is perhaps the most deserving single man I know. I look forward to visits
from him once Kristina and I move to San Diego. One nice thing about being
friends with Alan is that Kristina is also good friends with Alan.
- Pep's Pages - Pepper was one
of my apartment-mates, and best man at my wedding. I lived with him from my
Junior year at NCSSM until I graduated from NCSU and was married, 6 years,
after meeting him at Summer Ventures. He's really into Macintosh computers,
and is on the lookout for a good job in Software Design/Programming.
- Adolfo's Homepage - I have
worked with Adolfo at Duke over the past year or so, helping him finish his
Ph.D. working on a system called MACEDON, which is now the central focus
of my research. Recently I have had the opportunity to meet his family,
who are all great people to be around.
- Keith's Pad - I originally met
Keith back in A'ville, though not well enough to actually get to know him.
We had several mutual friends, but rarely crossed paths. It wasn't until
Keith joined Wolfgang that we became better friends, and now Kristina and
I really enjoy getting together with Keith and his new wife Tara.
- Mike's Pages - Mike was my
other apartment-mate. He is a stat graduate student with a long list of
presentations and publications. He recently married another friend,
Niamh O'Doherty. I met him with our involvement in the Catholic Church -
and since we got along so well we decided to live together.
- Brandon's Page (Home of the
Schmoo) - Brandon and Alan own a few houses together and are great
friends. Because of this I have had many opportunities to spend time
with Brandon, and really enjoy his company. He's also a very generous
guy, thankfully. Currently he spends as much time as he can with Alecia,
though since she's not local it's a bit more challenging.
- Leigh's Web Page -
Leigh is one of my big sisters. She is married and has two children,
Anna and John. The webpage is mostly about them. :-)
- Susan's Web
Page - Susan is another of my big sisters. She is also married and
has three children, James, Katie, and Michael. See her webpage for lots
of pictures
- Other Sites!
- Freedom to Tinker - A great
site to read about how the law and technology are progressing together.
- Urban Legends - Did you
ever need to know if a forward you've received via email is a hoax or true?
This site has a listing of them, with analyses of them to tell you what
the lowdown is.
- Snopes - Same sort of site as
Urban Legends.
- Wolfgang - Wolfgang is
a co-ed aCappella group at NCSU. I used to be in it, but now I am just
a fan.
- CCM at NCSU - My list of links
couldn't be complete without a link to the catholic campus ministry's webpage.
I was involved with it for a year, but did not stay on for a second year like
Michael did. But I'm still very loyal to CCM, and I have been the webmaster
since my graduation. This will change however as I move to San Diego.
- NCSSM - My olde Alma Mater.
An incredible school. Wow. I am so glad I was given the oppportunity to
go here. It was worth all the stress, etc.
- NCSU - My college Alma Mater.
I finished in Spring'02 in Computer Science and Applied Math. But perhaps the
most important thing I did at NCSU was to meet my [now] wife, Kristina.
- CS@Duke - Starting in Fall 02, I
was a graduate student at Duke University,
pursuing a Ph.D. in Computer Science. It has been a great 2 years, and
now this summer I'll be moving with my Ph.D. Advisor to the University of
California, San Diego.
- Computer Science, UCSD - Starting in
Fall 04, I will be a computer science graduate student at the University of
California, San Diego, though I'll continue to work with my advisor Amin Vahdat as I did at Duke.
- Microsoft Research - I did an
internship at MSR with Mike Jones on the Singularity project. MSR does some
really good research and it was a great opportunity to see how life is outside
the academic community.
- MCNC-RDI - I worked for a while at
MCNC-RDI, in the advanced networking research division. I worked on a Scalable
Intrusion Tolerant system, part of the OASIS DARPA program. If you ever have
the opportunity to work here, I recommend doing so, it was a great experience,
and a good place to work.
- Google - If you don't already know
about Google, visit this link and find out. Google is hands-down the best
internet search engine in existence.
